Hello Blacksmith! It is hard to believe that 2025 is almost coming to an end. As usual, we want to share another update from Smith’s Chronicles throughout December 2025. Overall, we explored and tried to implement many exciting features, and we would love to share the results with you all.
Development Updates
Over the past month, our team has been working very hard to add a variety of exciting updates to Smith’s Chronicles. Below are some of the updates we have completed and are ready to share with you.
Add New Station

In addition to using the furnace to turn ore into ingots, the anvil to turn ingots into parts, and the assembly table to combine those parts, we also added several new stations to increase the variety of activities you can do. We added a wood processing station to turn wood into wooden parts such as Wood Handle, Wood Plank, and more. We also created a tailor station to process creature drops like fur and leather into various parts, such as Leather Straps, Thread, Padded Cloth, and more. On top of that, we added a general shop where you can purchase raw materials that you have already discovered through adventure and resource gathering. Hopefully, these stations add more depth and excitement to the crafting experience you can enjoy.
Add New Character and NPC Animation

One of the core visions of Smith’s Chronicles is to make Grandall a town that feels welcoming, lively, and rich with enjoyable interactions with its residents. To support this, elements like cut scenes and NPC schedules need to be brought to life with natural movement. This month, our animator introduced a range of new character actions, including sweeping, taking in fresh air, sitting on chairs, resting on the ground, and more. As development continues, we will keep expanding these character motions to further enhance the sense of a living world.
Iteration on Environment (Grass, Bush, Tree, etc)

During the initial visual development of Smith’s Chronicles, we set out to achieve a warm, comforting painted art style. In the early iterations, our 3D artist managed to capture that direction quite well. However, as development progressed, we encountered several technical constraints with the approach, particularly around how shadows and lighting behaved. To address this, the team refined the environment visuals, revisiting elements such as grass, bushes, and multiple tree iterations across Grandall, aiming for a softer look that blends more naturally and harmoniously with the world.
Events
For an indie studio like us, gaining visibility is one of the most challenging parts. That is why we are truly happy whenever we are selected to participate in events, both digital and offline, that give us the opportunity to showcase our games. Below are some of the events we took part in during December.
Medieval Festival (5-18 December 2025)

Smith’s Chronicles takes a Medieval Fantasy theme, so we were very happy to be selected to participate in the Medieval Festival earlier this December. The Medieval Festival was a very exciting event for us, as it allowed us to showcase Smith’s Chronicles’ take on the medieval theme to an audience that already enjoys this setting. It helped us gain more visibility and increase our wishlist numbers.
Southeast Asia Games Onward (12-31 December 2025)

Another digital event that Smith’s Chronicles participated in was Southeast Asia Games Onward. This festival is especially exciting as it highlights games created by developers from Southeast Asia. Smith’s Chronicles is very proud to represent Indonesia in this showcase and to be part of presenting some of the best games from the SEA region.
Those are some of the updates we would like to share for this December. Looking ahead to 2026, we hope to bring you many more progress updates and exciting developments. Thank you sincerely for all the support throughout 2025, from wishlisting and following our Steam page, joining our Discord community, and engaging with us across social media. We wish you all a successful 2026 and hope you achieve everything you are aiming for.
