Greetings Blacksmith! Welcome to the end of January. We have a lot to share about our progress in developing Smith’s Chronicles so far, as we implement many new features and improvements.
Development Updates
-
Mix and Match Materials For Crafting
To add more variety to crafting gameplay, you can now choose which materials to combine when crafting tools and weapons. The materials used will affect the item’s price, and some customers will request specific materials, so take your time to gather them and make sure you are ready for any request.

-
Creature Animation and Behaviour
Now, creatures/monsters will have more expressive animation when attacking, being attacked, and walking. Each monster will also have its own unique behavior, such as roaming a specific area with its group or chasing players for a certain distance.

-
Blacksmith Shop Improvements
Trends
To make selling more dynamic, we added the trends feature. It will randomly raise the price of a random item in the shop and is also likely to be purchased by customers. Make sure you’re ready to craft the trending item to get more profit!
Bubble Chat
To indicate customers with special requests, we added a bubble chat icon above some customers’ names to make it easier for players to prepare the item in advance.
-
Cutscene Pause
We understand that many players might need to do errands in the middle of their gaming sessions, so we added a pause option in the cutscene so you won’t miss any important story and conversation in Smith’s Chronicles cutscene.
-
Fast Travel
To make travel easier, we added a fast travel feature in the game. Now you can fast travel in and between certain points on the map.
-
Mini Map
To avoid players getting lost in Grandall, we added a minimap in the user interface so players can easily move to their destination.

-
Assembly Flow Improvements
The assembly flow has been simplified; you can now craft parts on the blueprint page to craft the item directly. Also, using a slider, players can now craft many of the same items at once. Just make sure you have the materials to do it.
And that’s all the updates from January. Thank you for your support, and see you in another development log next month!
